Nicely snug

I decided to cover the newly dug area against the coming bad weather

Peased with myself

I prepared the bed for the peas I want to sow in a couple of weeks.

Deeply rooted..

One more down, one to go.. the gooseberry roots take some digging to get out!

Just some pics I took on a flying visit to the plot this afternoon (Thurs.)

Shelter from the storm?

It's raining hard as I write this and I can imagine a fox (or badger, to be topical) find temporary shelter. Most welcome to it they be! :-)

Down in the groove..

..or the pond, to be exact. My dad helping me finally dig it out. Good man!

Leeks at last!

Finally I've finished mulching the leeks!

Goosegone

Now I've got the space I've decided to remove the perennials from the raised veg beds, starting with the gooseberries.

Nice and snug

Todays 'work' nicely wrapped up against the rain :-)

Strange squalls?

An amazing shower storm just missed the allotment this afternoon and I can't work out what's the line to the right in the second pic.

Slowly, slowly..

And a new task begun.. I'm aiming to dig over the new plot by hand this winter. No 'wham, bam, thankyou mam' gardening for me! :-)

What a great feeling!

To actually have another allotment task on the 'completed' list! This section of path had been waiting for it's bark chippings for years - it's finally done! :-)
