Cheers, Jimmy. Things do seem better when the sun's got his hat on :o)
I've a couple of small corragated plastic cold-frames (one of which is still in it's packet) that I'm intending to take up there when I've sorted out the space down the 'tree end'. I should really be thinking more about getting the one I have currently in my backyard up and running with seedlings (January/ early Feb being so dull here has 'put it back' in my mind). Natural heat from manure/compost under frames is a good idea, yes, and one I would like to try one day. I could do with that horse still being around! :o)
> Have you thought of going over the whole thing with a metal detector?
That's an idea. There's not much though coming up in the way of man-made stuff apart from some red terracota tile fragments (I'll take a pic of them for you to add your thoughts on them - I don't think they're that old myself) so Time-Team will have to stay on hold for the time being :o)
