Hi Jimmy. Yes, a rather tongue-in-cheek observation of mine concerning the colour :o) Sadly, I remember as a boy squishing these creatures (a common boyhood pastime I've read - they do make regrettably satisfying red streaks :o( ). Thesedays, thankfully, I let them live in peace :o)

> there are two red mites

I meant to say that they're not to be confused with the Red Spider Mite which is a common pest in greenhouses. Was that the other red mite you were thinking of?

Best Regards,
Tim

Sorry, I forgot to say that the camera I've got is a Nikon 4600 (4.0 Effective Megapixels, 3x (34-102) Optical Zoom, Red-eye Reduction). It's an excellent budget model (retailing probably now at under £100 - last year when I was given it for my birthday they were around £120 new). I've been particularily pleased with it's macro function - for a point-and-shoot cameraman such as myself (not really understanding the ins and outs of photography) some of my results have been pretty professional looking I feel (these and my Cabbage White Butterfy pic from last year for instance). Yes, I would highly recommend Nikon as a make. T.
