Ground Elder I remember well from my early youth. I can still 'picture' it's familiar smell whilst playing as a kid in my grandmother's garden. I've not tried it yet as a veg though - there is a varigated form that is less invasive than the natural which I might consider growing one day. I've not noticed the wild form around the allotments - I'll let you know if I do.

I'm hoping that come the spring true my friend (and his elderly mum) will become regular visitors to the plot and continue to spur me on.

It was a verry cold day wednesday and on Thursday morning there was a little snow - but just for a few hours :o(
