I'm pretty sure that this little fellow is the Black Snail Beetle (Silpha atrata) so-named for it's liking of having snails for it's supper - good chap, eh?!# 1315

I like the cup-a-soup :) I've not yet really tried it fresh (I once did, but don't think I gave it long enough in the micro). I'm hoping for better luck with the home-grown version. Watch this space!
