Pricked out 28 lettuce 'Buttercrunch' (Sown 20/03/09) into 2 half trays.
Pricked out ? Unwins 'Creepy Crawly Mixture' into 1 large, and 1 half, tray (Sown 12/03/09).

Potted up 1 'Tondo' marrow SS (Sown 28.03.08) into a 19cm plastic.
Potted up 8 'Buttercrunch' lettuces (Sown 25.03.08) into 9cm plastics.

Sowed cucumber 'Cucino'. 2 seeds in individual 9cm plastics.
Sowed sweetcorn 'Lark'. 6 seeds in card rolls.
Sowed lettuce 'Buttercrunch'. 15 seeds (doubled up) in one 11cm half plastic.

Principle Tasks: Applying mulch and chipped bark as described above.
Additional Notes: Took up to plot 9 cape gooseberry 'Little Lantern', 1 sunflower 'Italian White' (sown 09.03.07), 5 american land cress (sown 22.02.07), 6 lettuce 'Buttercrunch' (sown 19.03.07), 3 broad bean 'Materpiece Green Longpod' (sown 07.04.07) and 2 coriander (sown 13.03.07).

Principle Tasks: Hand-weeding this year's seedbed (I decided to spray the brassicas with organic soft-soap as cabbage aphids were getting the better of them). Applying a 5cm deep mulch of Co-Op's Peat Free Compost around the 'Stuttgarter Giant' onions. Cutting the last two 'Buttercrunch' lettuces from VB02.

Principle Tasks: Planting out radish 'Cherry Belle' and carrot 'Healthmaster F1' into VB04. Forking over soil in preparation of continuing construction of VB03. Harvesting two 'Buttercrunch' lettuces.

Principle Tasks: Planting out the seven 'Buttercrunch' lettuces that I sowed on the 21st of Feb, and have had growing on under bottletop cloches, into veg bed 2. Inter-sowed three drills of parsnip 'Tender and True' between them. Planted out the 10 pre-chitted potato 'Colleen' potatoes. Erecting 'seed bed protector' cloche above today's veg sowings and plantings. Planting out the rescued acanthus into the border L-bed.

Nb. The pile of bark chippings in the forground of the panorama I brought up over the weekend (three 60l bags for £10 from CO-OP).
