Gunman Caught!

Or rather, air-rifleman. We're unsure whether or not it was the same that took pot-shots at us a couple of years back (See post for October 4th 2006 under Blog Archive) but at least it was confirmed today that one moronic teenager recently got caught red-handed by the Police doing something similar around the allotments. Good news, eh!

# 1296The 'Burgundy Bonnets' Scabious is benefiting from our so-far mild autumn.

# 1295I'm still waiting on my first exploding Achocha (Cyclanthera pedata). Maybe I should warn my neighbours?

# 1294The sole-surviving 'Hot and Spicy' Capsicum (Chilli to you and me) is finally redding-up!

# 1293No.07 from the 14th (See previous post). Notice how different it looks. Possibly Volvariella speciosa?

# 1292Total Allotment Time: 3 & 1/2hrs

Fungtastic!

I spotted seven different species of fungi today on my 100 square metre allotment - that's got to be some kind of record!

# 1290# 1289# 1288# 1287# 1286# 1285# 1284
From top to bottom:

1. ? Inkcap (Coprinus sp.)
2. Conocybe sp.?
3. ?
4. Verdigris Agaric (Stropharia aeruginosa)
5. Bolbitius vitellinus
6. ?
7. Same species as photographed on Sept 27th and Oct 9th? Possibly Volvariella speciosa?

# 1283I decided to interplant the field beans with the leftover Limnanthes seedlings from VB03. Whether they come to anything will depend on how well the beans do.

# 1282The rhubarb's almost completed it's shut-down for another year.

Total Allotment Time: 3 & 1/2hrs.

Fodder Radish - 100% Organic!

# 1280Now that's what I call a green manure - not a weed or pest in sight!

# 1279The physalis that I grew from a shop brought fruit has begun to ripen. Unfortunately I made a hash of picking this first one and the 'gooseberry' inside burst in the process - it still tasted good though.

# 1278That mystery fungus again. Possibly Volvariella speciosa?

Total Allotment Time: 3 hrs.
