An allotment friend didn't quite give me enough time to get my camera out when a steam train went by..

Rhubarb In Peace

I decided to try top-dressing the rhubarb which died back earlier than usual this year. It looks to be completely rotted through :-(

Weeded Out

The last patch of perennial weeds on the new plot is proving stubborn to clear.

So much to do..

I've only just now started on weeding and mulching the leeks.

Almost over..

The berries on the whitebeam have almost all gone.. the blackbirds love 'em!

Grass!

The grass I sowed less than a fortnight ago is already up!

A good start..

I've certainly done well this week (with the help of my dad, mum and mate) to clear the new plot of rubbish.

My neighbour suggested moving the 'bin' around to help kill off the weeds - great idea!

I decided to use the existing fire-thing (I can't remember what they're called) to make a start getting rid of the old pallets.

Plot 61 Reunited!

Good news! I've taken on the half-plot next to mine (61b). It means plot 61 is all one allotment again!

I'm wondering which animal killed and then buried a collared dove under one of the gooseberry bushes. Put aside for tomorrow's tea?
